About TxPPA
|
Established in 2007, TxPPA serves public purchasing professionals across Texas!
Background
In November 2006, the Texas County Purchasing Association (TCPA) and the Texas Purchasing Management Association (TPMA) agreed to merge and TxPPA is the result. The merger resulted in the very first Texas statewide, multi-agency, public purchasing organization.
A Foundation Committee was formed, consisting of representatives from cities, counties, schools, special districts, state agencies and higher education. This Committee diligently worked to firmly establish the TEXAS PUBLIC PURCHASING ASSOCIATION.
TxPPA's first President was Jack Beacham, C.P.M., Tarrant County, who served during the calendar years of 2008 and 2009. TxPPA's second President was Cheryl Turney, who served in 2010.
